openSUSE Conference 2013: Geeko Gets Geared Up!

If you use Free Software or you are just a friend and supporter of it, you can combine this summer vacation with a pleasant break, to attend the openSUSE Community Conference, openSUSE Conference 2013, which will be held in Thessaloniki, from 18 until July 22.

Why register now? Can\’t I register when I come to the conference?
Registration will be open until one day before the conference starts. However, those who decide at the last minute can also register on the day the conference starts.
Of course, there are many reasons to register now. First of all for financial reasons. It is better for the organizers to know in advance how many will visit the conference, in order to reserve a place and prepare the \”goodies\” that will be shared, than to see them all at the last minute.
For those who are still thinking about it, know that there will be various parties!

How much does it cost to attend the conference?
Participation in the conference is free! You can, however, financially support the conference by purchasing either the supporter tickets (40 €) or the professional tickets (200 €) during your registration.
All proceeds will be donated to the financial support of the conference with the help of the openSUSE Travel Support Program which will fund as many people as possible who contribute to openSUSE and want to participate in the conference from around the world!
For the conference in our country, you can buy the above special tickets from the websites: Supporter ticket and Professional ticket.

Can non-members of the openSUSE community attend the conference?
Of course they can participate in the conference, and even for free, if they want.

How can I register?
To register for the conference, visit the specially designed registration page conference.opensuse.org/osem/.
On the same page, you can also state the presentations you may want to make.

Can non-members of the openSUSE community also make presentations? What issues will be discussed? How long can applications be submitted for presentations?
Of course, those who do not belong to the openSUSE community can also apply for presentations, workshops or Birds of Feather (BoF).
The 3 modules to cover are community and project, Geeko tech and openWorld. Applications must be made by April 3, 2013 on the page we mentioned earlier, conference.opensuse.org/osem/, in order for the program committee to consider the proposals. Will the interested parties be notified about the progress of their applications, until April 24, 2013?

I like the idea of Free Software, I\’m a professional company and I would like to sponsor the conference. What should I do;
Initially, you can also register and attend the conference. As far as sponsorships are concerned, it is better to see the sponsorship brochure and to contact the people in charge that it lists, so that they can inform you.

I do not belong to the openSUSE community, and I do not use openSUSE. But I would like to help as a volunteer. Can Ι? If so, how?
Feverish efforts are being made to organize the conference. During the conference, many people will be needed to complete the conference, as we expect many participants from all over the world.
The Gentoo community has already offered and is helping. No problem. You can also help us.
Just pay attention to the Code of Conduct!
All you have to do is contact us, and be informed about the progress of the organization.
