TISP Week

The TISP Week 2017 is organized once again after the success of TISP Week 2016, attended by 500 educators trained in more than 15 IEEE Region 8 countries, thus making a series of training seminars, focusing on exploratory learning, aiming at the emergence of the Science – Technology – Engineering – Mathematics (STEM), but also in the development of soft skills in the later professional and social life of students.

TISP Week 2017 will be held from 1/12/2017 to 9/12/2017, where TISP Workshops will be organized across Europe, the Middle East and Africa from participating countries and each workshop will involve at least 30 teachers.

All TISP Week Workshops will have trained IEEE Volunteers to train school teachers by applying a course plan from tryengineering.org

This year, for the first time in Kastoria, the IEEE Student Branch of the Department of Computer Science, TEI of Western Macedonia in cooperation with IEEE Greece Section, will be staged in the premises of the foundation on Saturday 25/11/2017 in presence of Mr. Stamatis Dragoumanos, member of IEEE Region 8 Educational Activities Subcommittee, Head of the Pre-University Works Committee and Head of Educational Activities at Greece Section.

About TISP

Teacher-In-Service Program (TISP) works as a professional seminar aimed at teachers in order to integrate fun exploratory learning lessons from the engineering point of view. The immediate aim of the program is to encourage teachers to use this methodology and to work with IEEE Volunteers while the ultimate goal is to develop skills for students to become better professionals and explore the most technical career directions (engineer in this case).

About IEEE

IEEE stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the largest technology and professional technology organization dedicated to the development of technology for the good of humanity. The IEEE and the members that make it inspire the world community to innovate for a better tomorrow through its popular editions, conferences, technological standards and educational activities. The IEEE the trusted consultant for engineering, technology and IT around the world.

The IEEE has more than 420.000 members worldwide in more than 160 countries and publishes one third of technical literature on electrical engineers, computer science and electronics and most of the standards currently used in telecommunications, information technology and power generation.
