IEEE Women in Engineering activity of the Student Branch in Kastoria

What is IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE)

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is a global network that supports and promotes women engineers and scientists. Even though women have made history in the field —from programming the first ENIAC computer to the present day— they often face stereotypes that hold them back, resulting in many leaving the profession.

The goal of WIE is to change this image. It works to break prejudices, boost women’s confidence in the field, and inspire young girls to believe in their abilities so they can pursue a career in Engineering and Science.
