Call for participation in FOSDEM

FOSDEM (https://fosdem.org/) is held every year in Brussels. This year, it will be held on 3-4 February 2018.

It is the largest meeting of Free and Open Software communities and companies, not only from Europe but also from all over the world.

More than 600 seminars and speeches with over 8,000 participants are held during the two days of the event.

The purpose of the conference is to present the existing projects and new trends in the Free Software and Open Source Software (FOSS) and to get acquainted with communities, research and development teams and companies dealing with Open Software at international level to exchange know-how and experience. We present the technological developments in the field, the innovative ideas and the collection of proposals for the promotion and use of ELLAK. The adoption and exploitation of open technologies haw multiple benefits for the local economy, such as:

  • The cost is shifted from the purchase of licenses to human-time payment, thus reducing the leakage of specialized executives and boosting the local economy.
  • Open technologies prevent vendor lock-in and enhance competition and innovation.
  • Open technologies allow better connectivity between research and innovation and enhance the substantial transfer of know-how.
