The IEEE Student Branch Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences, Kastoria, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering of TEI of Western Macedonia in Kozani, held a workshop titled \”Discover the World of IEEE\” with an honorary guest Professor Evangelos Dimosos of the National Technical University of Athens and President of the Greek community IEEE PES.
The workshop took place on Friday, November 23, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at the Auditorium of TEI of Western Macedonia, Kozani.
The topics presented were a small \”Introduction\” for IEEE and the conference by Associate Professor George Christoforidis, President of the Department of Electrical Engineering TE, TEI of Western Macedonia, Kozani. The series was entitled \”Explore the World of IEEE\” by Cleopatra Gola and Christos Choutris, IEEE Student Branch President and Treasurer. In this presentation for the IEEE world, we first presented the actions of our student branch and then the IEEE Affinity Groups Women in Engineering, which was recently created at our Student Branch and the Young Professionals of the IEEE Greece Section. Finally, a presentation of the IEEE Power & Energy Society Greek Chapter by Prof. Evangelos Dimylios, Professor of the National Technical University of Athens and President of the Greek community IEEE PES in Greece.
To sum up, we would like to thank Mr. George Christoforidis, President of the Department of Electrical Engineering TE, TEI of Western Macedonia, Kozani for the invitation he made in order to hold this meeting together and to meet the wonderful world of IEEE the students of his department and not only.
