The web conference on “Future Generation Networks and the Internet of Things” was successfully held on Thursday, April 15, 2021, co-organized by the IEEE Student Branch University of Western Macedonia – Kastoria and the IEEE Student Branch University of Western Macedonia – Kozani.
The following presentations were made during the meeting:
- Presentation of the Student Branches by Christos Roumeliotis Chair of the IEEE Student Branch University of Western Macedonia – Kozani and Christos Anastasiou Chair of the IEEE Student Branch University of Western Macedonia – Kastoria.
- Mobility Management in 5G Networks by Angelos Michalas Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the University of Western Macedonia, Counselor of the IEEE Student Branch of Western Macedonia – Kastoria.
- Next Generation IoT: Modern Applications by Panagiotis Sarigiannidis Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the University of Western Macedonia, Counselor of the IEEE Student Branch of Western Macedonia – Kozani.
- Projects of ITHACA Lab by Mr. Thanassis Liatifis PhD Candidate of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the University of Western Macedonia.
- Smart Grid Services Enabled Through the IοT by Dimitrios I. Vergados Assistant Professor of the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Western Macedonia.
The day was attended with particular interest by students of both Departments as well as students of other Departments from all over Greece gaining knowledge on cutting-edge issues.
