The workshop on “Writing scientific texts using LaTeX” was successfully held on Thursday 05 May at 18:00 by the IEEE Student Branch in collaboration with the Dean’s Office of Sciences of the University of Western Macedonia (Departments of Computer Science and Mathematics).
The workshop was held both in person in an auditorium of the university and online through the Zoom platform, where more than 60 participants attended.
At the beginning of the workshop, a presentation of our student branch was made by the president of our Student Branch Christos Anastasiou, followed by a presentation of the Online LaTeX Editor Overleaf by the third-year student of the mathematics department, Tsiftsian Anthi.
Then the following topics were presented:
- Writing text in LaTeX – Basic document types by Mr. Vassiliadis, Assistant Professor of the Department of Mathematics.
- Editing mathematical representations in LaTeX by Mrs. Z. Kalogiratou, Dean of the Faculty of Science.
- Colours and Shapes in LaTeX by Mrs. F. Sereti, Lecturer PD 407 of the Department of Mathematics.
